I’ve been staying at this hostel since September and honestly, it’s been such a great experience. I originally came as a guest and ended up extending my stay because of the atmosphere and the people. The facilities are really good – there’s a pool, a bar, plenty of common areas and lots of activities and events, so it’s easy to meet people. It has a really social vibe but still feels organised and well run. One thing that makes it stand out is the free shuttle bus to the Night Markets (Cairns city centre), which runs every 30 minutes and only takes about 5 minutes – super convenient. The team is always friendly and helpful, and there’s a genuinely positive environment here. In my opinion, it’s definitely one of the best hostels in Australia. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing stay at Summer House Cairns! The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, perfect for meeting new people. The rooms were clean, the pool area was great, and the free shuttle made everything super convenient. I would definitely stay here again!

Great hostel, clean rooms ! A lot of activities in the evening organised by the hostel to meet people. The salsa courses we followed and we are still following even after moved of the hostel is very cool and professionnal ! Thanks you to Alicia and her partner for teaching us 😜 We love it, I recommand to come and enjoy with us ! ❤️

The best hostel I've stayed in so far. Amazing facilities including a bar and pool with loungers and hammocks. Offers free rides to the city, bike hire and games such as pool and table tennis. Always a very friendly and social environment that always has something fun going on. The staff are also helpful and friendly too. Very worth it.

We had a great stay at Summer House Cairns! Rooms were very clean and comfortable and safe, and the bathroom (we had an ensuite with our 4 bed dorm) was clean. The amenities were great, including the large kitchen area and shared living room area. And the service was fantastic - muchos gracias Javiera! We weren't able to use the shuttle due to the timing of our stay but thats also a great amenity since the hostel is a bit outside of the downtown area.

Great hostel, especially for people staying long term. Lots going on, everywhere is really well kept and clean. Staff were incredible and extremely helpful. Special shoutout to Jenni and Leticia who were very friendly and went out of their way to help me during my stay. Buses to the city centre also ran very regularly.

I would highly recommend staying at Summer House hostel in Cairns. Its great value for money. The four female dorm room was nice and spacious. There are always fun activities at the bar for social vibes. The rooms are peaceful and quiet for a good night's sleep. The staff are very kind, especially Javiera on reception she was extremely helpful, I had a brilliant time staying here whilst exploring Cairns.

My experience at the hostel was amazing. Leticia at reception took great care of me from the very beginning always kind, welcoming, and making me feel at home. I’d also like to highlight Fernanda, the housekeeper, because everything was spotless thanks to her dedication and hard work. Wonderful team!

Amazing stay! A beautiful hostels with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The common area and pool area invites to sit around and drinks are very cheap in the happy hour. Of the weekly program I really enjoyed the yoga and the trivia nights. I highly recommend it for backpackers in Cairns.

Great vibe! Absolutely loved my stay for a couple of months! It's one of the calmer hostels in Cairns. It has an great weekly program, a nice bar, very chill kitchen and social area. There is a shuttle 2 times per hour which drives you until late night to the city center. I highly recommend the hostel. I had a great time with a big group of lovely people.
